| production method | the pure strontium oxide is wetted with a theoretical amount of water, I .e, the heat is released to produce white powder of strontium hydroxide. Further addition of water results in the formation of strontium hydroxide monohydrate, heptahydrate and octahydrate. Strontium hydroxide octahydrate is insoluble.
